THE BIG PICTURE

About this course

The Application Services Library (ASL) is a framework for organising and improving application management across operations, maintenance, and strategy. The corresponding foundation certification is awarded by APMG International. Over three days you explore ASL2 principles and process architecture, then work through operational support, maintenance and enhancement, and management and strategy processes. You will map processes to a case study, analyse roles and interfaces, draft a maintenance plan, and practise with scenario-based questions. A separate foundation-level exam is available from the awarding body or its accredited providers. This course includes a timed mock and practical guidance on booking and preparing for the exam. APMG International owns the certification scheme. MindClick provides training and exam preparation and is not an accredited or authorised partner.

What you’ll learn

  • Explain the aims, scope, and terminology of application management within the ASL framework
  • Describe the ASL2 process architecture and how the clusters relate across the lifecycle
  • Apply operational support practices for incidents, changes, configuration, and continuity of applications
  • Outline maintenance and enhancement workflows including impact analysis, testing, release, and documentation
  • Use management processes for planning and control, quality, financials, reporting, and supplier coordination
  • Relate ASL processes to neighbouring domains such as software development, IT service management, and business information management
  • Create a concise application maintenance plan, metrics set, and improvement actions for a case scenario
  • Practise exam-style questions, take a timed mock, and build a personal study plan for the foundation exam
